Union County Commissioners have been asked to pass a resolution in support of an independent, appointed, special committee to create future congressional district lines. Please attend the Commissioners Meeting to oppose this.
Liberals have been emboldened by the decision of our activist PA Supreme Court which threw out duly decided congressional boundaries. Now they want the Union County Commissioners to pressure legislators into giving up their responsibility to draw boundaries.
The Pennsylvania Constitution gives sole responsibility for drawing districts to the legislature. The previous districts were passed in a bi-partisan manner consistent with the law. However, as part of a nationwide effort to undermine our republic, liberal activists continue to assail state legislatures to willingly abdicate their responsibility to their constituents. Part of this effort is to gather supporting resolutions from other government entities and organizations.
Please make your best attempt to attend the Union County Commissioner’s meeting next week on Tuesday, March 27 at 2 pm in the Union County Government Center, 155 N. 15th Street, Lewisburg.
Tell our commissioners to reject efforts to change who draws Congressional districts.
Even if you cannot attend, our commissioners still need to hear from you.
