Sallie Mundy was elected to the Superior Court in 2009 and last year was confirmed to fill the remainder of a term on the PA Supreme Court.  Now she is running to keep that seat.

Justice Mundy is from Tioga County; she is the only statewide elected official from the Northern Tier.  She brings balance to the court with her rural perspective.

All candidates must collect signatures in order to have their names appear on the May ballot.  The number of signatures required depends upon the elected position sought with statewide positions needing more than municipal ones.  Petitions circulate from February 14 to March 7.

Congratulations to newly elected state chairman Val DiGiorgio.  Val was elected to a four year term on Saturday at the PA Republican State Committee meeting in Hershey.  He previously served as Chester County controller and RPCC  chairman.  Joining him at the top of the state party is Vice-Chair Bernadette Comfort, director of the Anne Anstine Excellence in Public Service Series which provide leadership training to Republican women across the Commonwealth.

Judge Neil Gorsuch, a member of the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals has been selected by President Trump to fill the Supreme Court seat left vacant by Justice Antonin Scalia’s death last year.  Gorsuch has a strong track record on the bench and is considered an originalist.  His previous writings indicate he is not only highly qualified, but deeply thoughtful on the issues of government and culture.  We are pleased to actively support Judge Gorsuch for this position.
