Does your precinct have a Republican Judge of Election? Inspector? Do people who don’t live in your precinct staff the polling locations because no one in your area steps up to help with the most basic of citizen responsibilities – voting and running in fair elections!
Judges and Inspectors of Election will be elected during the May 20th Municipal Primary Election, so I am asking for your help. Please consider running and talk with your neighbors and friends to encourage them to become a Judge of Elections or Inspector of Elections.
This important elected office is one of the most significant contributions individuals can make to fair and lawful elections and it requires only a very modest time commitment of just two full days each year (on the primary and general election days; both days are paid) and some time for training. Instead of just observing the process, the Judge and Inspectors actually administer the election in the precinct. They assure honest elections.
To qualify for the Primary, Judge of Election candidates only need 10 signatures on the petition and Inspectors only need 5 signatures. They may run for both in contested areas. Petitions are available at the Union County Elections office, 155 N. 15th Street, Lewisburg PA during normal business hours. There is NO COST to file to run. Signatures must be collected from individuals registered as Republican voters.
Gathering signatures on petitions may be done now through March 11. All petitions must be filed with the Union County Elections office no later than close-of-business on Tuesday, March 11.
