Shut It Down!

Posted on March 21, 2017 Written by Carolyn Conner

“Do Republicans really think that fewer than 5,000 appointees can win against 2.8 million federal employees who have a vested interest in absolutely nothing changing?”

“If there is to be real change in our form of government, the Trump administration needs to avoid the fatal flaw of previous Republican administrations: choosing to play the game by the Left’s rules.”

In his article, To Truly Beat The Bureaucrats, Trump Needs To Shut Their Agencies Down, Ned Ryun, founder and CEO of American Majority, makes the case that our overgrown, burdensome, freedom-limiting government cannot be managed into reasonableness by a Republican administration, but must instead be dismantled to protect citizens and their liberty.

The UCRC through our  It Matters initiative seeks to promote policy discussion and grassroots activism among Republicans for the benefit of our community, state and country.

Posted on March 19, 2017 Written by Carolyn Conner

Republican candidates for the four open positions on the PA Superior Court are actively campaigning for the May 16th election.

Today we highlight Judge Wade Kagarise from Blair County.  Wade Kagarise brings broad law experience to the race, having been in private practice and serving as a Deputy District Attorney before being seated on the Court of Common Pleas.

Judge Kagarise visited Union County and spoke at our annual Ronald Reagan Birthday Party on February 6th.  If you missed him there, learn more about the candidate at judgekagarise.com

PA Supreme Court Candidate

Posted on March 13, 2017 Written by Carolyn Conner

Sallie Mundy was elected to the Superior Court in 2009 and last year was confirmed to fill the remainder of a term on the PA Supreme Court.  Now she is running to keep that seat.

Justice Mundy is from Tioga County; she is the only statewide elected official from the Northern Tier.  She brings balance to the court with her rural perspective.

Calling Volunteers

Posted on February 13, 2017 Written by Carolyn Conner

All candidates must collect signatures in order to have their names appear on the May ballot.  The number of signatures required depends upon the elected position sought with statewide positions needing more than municipal ones.  Petitions circulate from February 14 to March 7.

UCRC needs help to collect signatures in Union County for our seven (7) statewide candidates for the PA appellate courts.  If you would like to circulate a petition on behalf of one, two or more candidates, please contact us at chairman@unioncountygop.com.  Statewide petitions must be returned to us no later than February 27 at our petition party where we will make available free notary service for your certification.
