Pennsylvania’s delegation to the RNC will play a vital role in preparing for the Republican Convention in July.  Chairman Rob Gleason was named chairman of the RNC’s Committee on the Call, which issues the official call for the 2016 convention.  Joining him on the committee are Pennsylvania’s National Committeewoman Christine Toretti and committeeman Bob Asher.

“Over the course of the next several months the Committee will play a major role in any issues involving delegates to the Convention,” said PAGOP Chairman Gleason.

Delegates to the Convention serve in many capacities, approve the Republican Party platform, make rules for the party’s actions, and choose the Republican nominee for President of the United States.

Candidates for Pennsylvania’s 54 delegates selected by congressional district will be on the April 26th ballot.  Three delegates and alternates will be elected from CD-10.

Persons interested in running for delegate to the Republican National Convention should inform themselves to the process and prepare to pass petitions to secure ballot access starting January 26.

The Call of the Convention includes the text of the rules relating to the convening and the proceedings of the national convention, in addition to the official delegate count for each state
