In Union County we are working hard to elect our Republican candidates to important positions this fall.  While everyone knows about the presidential race, many don’t yet recognize the names and faces of those running for other vital offices.  Find them on our candidates page.

 

Every four years the delegates to the Republican National Convention approve an updated Platform.  This document identifies the official positions of the GOP for the next four years.

Prior to the full meeting of the RNC from July 18-22, the Platform Committee will assemble the draft platform.  Comprised of two delegates from each state, the Platform Committee will discuss issues of importance as they define what the Republican Party will stand for and promote during this year’s election and for the next four years.

Carol Sides, a CD-10 delegate from Lycoming County, will serve on the Platform Committee in Cleveland beginning today.

Thanks to all who walked, rode and cheered us on during the Lewisburg veteran’s Parade.

This day commemorates the adoption of the United States flag on June 14, 1777.  The stripes represent the original 13 colonies, the stars represent the 50 states of the Union. The colors of the flag are symbolic as well: Red symbolizes Hardiness and Valor, White symbolizes Purity and Innocence and Blue represents Vigilance, Perseverance and Justice.
