Please review the following chart for the most recent updates. The delegate situation continues to evolve. We will update the guide as candidates and campaigns inform us of changes.

Much has been reported about delegates and their role at the Republican National Convention. The primary role of each delegate is to cast a vote to choose the Republican presidential nominee. Other responsibilities include serving on committees and determining the 2016 Republican Platform. All delegates elected from Pennsylvania’s congressional districts go to the Convention unbound; they may each vote for the candidate of their choice.
UCRC realized that given the nature of this elected position many voters are under-informed about the candidates running for delegate. To help us cast informed votes and to assist Republican voters in Union County, we have queried all fourteen (14) candidates who will appear on your April 26 ballot. Voters will choose three (3). We asked key questions about their support for presidential candidates, how they will determine who to nominate, and their beliefs on key platform positions.
UCRC does not endorse any candidate in this or any other Primary Election race. This brief is not meant to be a definitive voter guide, only an overview of candidate responses. We encourage each voter to research all candidates for every office before casting their ballots on April 26.

Update 04-10-2016: Most candidates have made newer statements to local press and the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. An article on TribLive identifies several candidates who have changed the position sent to us in early to mid-March.
We encourage voters to stay actively informed in this rapidly changing Presidential race.
